Our Story
Specializing in European-bred jumpers, L’Histoire Stables brings decades of expertise from the heart of the European circuit to riders in the U.S. and abroad.
Rooted in our family’s program in Brittany France, we have spent generations refining horses for precision, power, and clarity in the ring. At L’Histoire Stables in Florida, we focus on thoughtful development that builds competitive, confident partners for the sport.
A Family Property Rooted in Tradition
L’Histoire Stables traces its origins to Brittany, France, in a small hamlet called L’Histoire in the town of Languidic. The property was once an equestrian center, and long before that, a traditional Breton crêperie. Surrounded by classic stone farmhouses, it felt like a small village—full of character, warmth, and history. It quickly became our family’s home, and the birthplace of our passion.
The first two mares
When my father purchased the property, he had two mares: The first was a talented eventing horse who had competed at a high national level—and may even have represented France. The second was a trotter named Aude de la Gibais, discovered in a field. She was powerful, sensitive, and an incredible jumper. With the right young rider, she went on to win everything up to the B1 level at the time. These mares became the foundation of what followed.
The start of the Breeding Program
When both mares retired from the sport, my father began breeding. Our first homebred competition horses were born—the ones my sister and I grew up riding. The breeding program purpose was simple and genuine: Breed, raise and train horses we could ride, develop, and compete with every weekend. Selling was never the primary motivation. If my father could keep every horse, he would.
What mattered most was sharing our passion: training together, traveling to shows together, living the sport as a family. The horses were—and still are—at the heart of our story.
An Eye for potential and flourishing results
My father has always been passionate about breeding and genetics. He has an exceptional eye for horses—the instinct to recognize capability and potential early. Even today, he continues to invest in young horses so that our family can compete, grow, and evolve with each new generation.
My first competition mare, with whom I competed up to 1m40, was a granddaughter of that trotter foundation line: Radja Le Listoir. We still have her sister, Talisma de Listoir, now also a broodmare. She produced Gearnac de Listoir, who is currently competing at 1m40 and has been sold to Greece—continuing the legacy abroad.
